City Centre Bahrain raises over BD 2,155 for the Bahrain Society for Children with Behavioural and Communication Difficulties

May 31, 2012

Donations will aid the organisation’s educational and research programmes.

In support of Alia Al Khalifa school and the Bahrain Society for Children with Behavioural and Communication Difficulties – a local organisation promoting lifelong access and opportunity for all individuals and families coping with behavioural and communication difficulties within the community, City Centre Bahrain has raised over BD 2,155 in funds. Donations will aid the organisation’s educational and research programmes.

Part of the mall’s on-going corporate social responsibility initiative, donation boxes were placed throughout City Centre Bahrain from March 25th to May 25th – helping promote the worthwhile charity, and ultimately raising a significant amount of funds. A year-round initiative, City Centre Bahrain will alternate donation boxes every two months, meaning a total of six local charities will be supported throughout the year.

“City Centre Bahrain is dedicated to supporting worthwhile charities in Bahrain to raise awareness and give back to the community and families in need,” said Mr. Duaij Khalifa Al Rumaihi, Senior Mall Manager, City Centre Bahrain . “With over BD 2,155 in donations collected, I would like to thank our valued shoppers and retailers for their generous support and encourage them to help organizations featured in the mall on an on-going basis.”

“We are extremely grateful to City Centre Bahrain for affording us the opportunity to highlight the importance of the community’s role in facilitating integration for children with behavioural and communication difficulties,” said Sh. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa Treasurer. Bahrain Society for Children with Behavioural and Communication Difficulties “I would like to thank City Centre Bahrain and the community for their donations and support.”

To collect the generous donation, City Centre Bahrain welcomed Alia Al Khalifa’s principal and 14 students, with Magic Planet also inviting the children to enjoy complimentary games and activities. The next charity organization to be supported by the community-minded mall is The Dreams Society – an organisation set up to bring joy to the seriously ill children and make their dreams come true.
